Who we are

A place to serve, lead, and belong

The Forsyth County Junior Service League is a women-led, all-volunteer organization built on the belief that showing up consistently — in your own community — is one of the most meaningful things you can do.

We are neighbors, not strangers. Some of us have lived here for decades. Some of us just arrived. All of us are here because we want to do something real for the women, children, and families who call Forsyth County home.

Applications for our 2026–2027 Provisional Member Class are open now.

Eligibility & how it works

  • Open to women ages 22 and older who share our mission.
  • New members begin as Provisional Members — a training year that prepares you for full Active membership.
  • General Membership Meetings are the second Tuesday of every month, September through May, 6:30–8:00 p.m.
  • Membership is structured around a flexible points system — you choose how you show up.
  • Annual dues activate your membership and support League operations.

What you'll gain

What membership looks like

Membership is more than a title. It's a community of women who show up — for Forsyth County and for each other.

Real, hands-on service

You'll work directly alongside community partners — packing backpacks, stocking pantries, supporting local nonprofits during moments that matter. This is not committee work from a distance. You show up and do the thing.

Leadership you can point to

Serve on a council, lead a committee, plan an event, chair a project. Every role builds real skills — project management, public speaking, organizational leadership — and a record of civic involvement you carry with you.

Women who become your people

Member socials, in-home gatherings, and a year of working side-by-side with women who share your values. The friendships that come out of this League are the kind that last.

A flexible structure that fits your life

Our points system is designed around real schedules. You choose how you meet your commitment — through service events, drives, meetings, or operational support. There's a path in for every kind of busy.

Your first year

The Provisional Member Class

Every new member begins as a Provisional Member. Your first year is a training year — you'll learn how the League operates, serve alongside Active members, and build the foundation you need to lead. It's the start of something that goes well beyond one service year.
